About Me
Hey, Mama! I am so happy you are here! My name is Marjorie Mae and I am the owner of Honey Home Birth Services. I would love to share about myself, my family, and how Honey Home was born. Let's start with some things about me. That handsome man is my husband, Dakota. We met while we were both stationed in Camp Pendleton, California. In 2016, I left the Marine Corps and Dakota still serves to this day. We then adopted our first baby, Emmy Lou. She has 4 paws and fur all over but we love her so much! While in California we found ourselves expecting our first baby, Lakelyn. It was a harsh reality that we would be welcoming our first child with no physical family or friends around we only had each other. We had Lakelyn in September 2019. Shortly after I realized my growing desire to help other mothers during the birth and postpartum period. I have always been passionate about supporting and empowering women and families so the decision to become a Doula was easy. I felt as if I finally found what God made me to do, create a calm and safe environment for women to be authentically themselves. There is nothing more raw and beautiful than birth and the sweet bliss of babies.
When Lakelyn was just 5 weeks old we attended a DONA Birth Doula Training, I was hooked, ready to start my business and love on Mamas. Then COVID hit, hospitals were overloaded and we found ourselves moving in the middle of it all. When Lakelyn was just 7 months old, Dakota received orders and we moved our young family to Texas. Lakelyn is now 2yrs old, and as sweet as can be, she keeps me on my toes for sure. Once we got settled in, those two pink lines showed up again and I knew that I needed to be there for my family. My dreams of starting Honey Home would have to hold off just a little longer. Our Son, Haeken, was born at home in June, 2021. I am here now ready to dive in, throw myself back into my passion and see where it takes me.
Being a Military family, moving is inevitable. As a Mother and Wife I have the honor of making our new place a home, it is my job to comfort my children in any way necessary as we transition to new places. My goal as your Birth/Postpartum Doula is to make wherever we end up together, planned or not, to feel like home. I want to provide a sense of security and comfort to you and your family. It would be my absolute pleasure to support you in your journey through motherhood.
